Call the Free Water Damage and Mold Line

This is a phone-only line. Call any hour, day or night, and an automated assistant answers, asks what happened and connects you with an independent DFW company.

One way to reach the line: by phone

Call (469) 649-7066. It is free, and it is answered around the clock.

An automated assistant picks up and asks what you need help with. This number also answers heating and air, roof and pressure washing calls, so start with the words "water damage" or "mold" and the assistant will take it from there.

There is no email address, no contact form and no office to visit. Every request goes through the phone so it can be routed to a company while you are still on the line.

Have these ready when you call

You do not need all of this. But the more you can say in the first minute, the better the summary the company hears before it picks up.

Where

Your town and street address, or at least the town and ZIP code. The line covers Dallas-Fort Worth only.

What happened

The source if you know it: a supply line, the water heater, the roof, a sewer backup, a creek or street flooding, a slab leak, or mold you found.

Is it still going

Whether water is still coming in, and whether you have been able to shut it off at the main valve.

How far it spread

Which rooms, which floors, and whether it reached carpet, walls, ceilings or cabinets.

A callback number

The best number to reach you, in case the company cannot answer the transfer.

Your insurer's details

Your policy number is handy for later conversations with the company, though the line itself does not deal with insurers.

Safety first. Shut off the main water valve if you can get to it without risk. Water and electricity together are the real hazard, so stay out of any puddle that touches an outlet, a cord or an appliance. Switch off the breaker only when the panel can be reached from dry flooring; if it cannot, call Oncor or an electrician. A gas smell means everyone goes outside, and the calls to 911 and Atmos Energy are made from there. Floodwater and sewage are not safe to wade through, for adults, children or pets. Once everyone is safe, take photos for the insurance claim and carry valuables and documents to a dry room.

What happens after you dial

  1. Water damage call: put through to an independent, locally owned DFW restoration firm. A short summary of your call reaches it before it answers.
  2. Mold removal call: transferred to an independent DFW mold remediation company, also with a summary.
  3. Mold testing call: taken as a message with your name, number, address and need. Texas rules keep the mold assessor separate from the remediator, so testing is not sent to a remediation company.
  4. No answer from the company: it still gets your name, callback number, city and problem and can phone you back.

From there, the company inspects, quotes and does any work you agree to, and you settle the bill with the company, yourself or through an insurance claim you manage. Calling costs you nothing; companies may pay the line a referral fee. The how it works page has the full details.

While you wait for a call back

Keep the water off at the main if you were able to close it. Take photos of every wet room, then move papers, photos and electronics to a dry place. Keep out of any water that might be sewage or floodwater.

Call your insurer and ask what your policy covers and what it needs from you. More safe steps are in the first 48 hours guide.

Where calls come from

The line takes calls from Dallas, Fort Worth and the cities and towns around them in Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall and Tarrant counties. Calls from outside the metroplex may not be connected.

Questions about contacting the line

What is the water damage restoration phone number for Dallas-Fort Worth?

The free line's number is in the header of every page and on the call buttons on this page; on a phone, tap it to dial. It is answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by an automated assistant that transfers water damage calls to an independent, locally owned DFW restoration company. The same number also answers other home service calls, so begin by saying water damage or mold.

Is there an email address or contact form?

No. The line works by phone only, and the site has no forms. That way your call can be routed to a company while you are still on the line. If you have a privacy request, leave a message on the line and say it is a privacy request, as the privacy policy explains.

Is there an office I can visit?

There is no public office or walk-in location for Water Damage Pro Dallas; it exists as a phone number and this website. If a company takes your job, it visits the property. Ask it where it is based.

I want mold testing, not removal. Should I still call?

You can. Mold testing calls are not transferred right now. The assistant takes your name, number, address and what you need as a message, without a promise about when or whether a test will be arranged. Licensed mold assessors can be found on the TDLR license search. The mold testing page explains the rules.

Call now, any hour

Say what happened and which town you are in. The automated assistant passes a water damage call to an independent, locally owned DFW restoration company, and a mold removal call to an independent mold remediation company. That company comes out, sees the damage and prices the work itself.
